Taiji and Meditation classes in Chiang Mai

Taiji (or Tai Chi) is taught in many forms and styles, such as Yang, Chen, and Wu styles, but overall these are merely labels with little meaning. To understand a teaching, it is best to look at the lineage and the system that the teacher has established. Most Taiji systems emphasize gentle movements aimed at improving health and wellbeing, or are marketed as ancient fighting systems.

Our system uses a modern approach to the traditional internal ways of cultivation that have been taught by our teacher, Patrick Kelly, for over 50 years. The main goals of the training are self-refinement and spiritual development, with a teaching approach that cultivates energy and gradually turns the mind inwards by strengthening the deeper aspects of the mind. Health, along with much greater body control and awareness, then becomes a side effect of our training.

The teaching is connected with the Yang Chengfu, Zheng Manqing, Huang Xingxian and Patrick Kelly Taiji lineage.

We offer our training on a membership basis in a non-commercial setting in order to provide the best training environment for our students. New students are welcome to join our group at any time. A period of three months, with twice-weekly attendance, is required to learn the basic form and pushing hands patterns. Please check the information about class structure and fees, and book an appointment to watch a class before starting.
